A Guide to a fun Fall Season
As the leaves change and the crisp autumn air arrives, Leonia High School is buzzing with excitement for fun filled fall activities that brightens up their season as the days get shorter. From Pumpkin picking to scary Halloween movies, LHS students have their favorite ways to embrace the season.
For Avaleigh Quinton, a sophomore at Leonia High School, fall means hitting the volleyball courts. “My favorite activity to do during the fall is volleyball because it keeps me going. It’s something that I look forward to after a long day of school. Also, volleyball is very fun, especially when we succeed, and seeing all of my teammates puts a smile on my face,” she shared. Avaleigh also looks forward to Halloween, adding, “Free candy and getting to hang out with my friends all night long takes a weight off my shoulders,” especially given her busy schedule with sports and academics.
Teachers at Leonia also have their favorite ways to embrace the fall spirit. Mrs. Nam enjoys golfing during this time of year, appreciating the comfortable weather. “It’s not too hot yet not too cold,” she noted. Beyond golf, the fall foliage is something she looks forward to every year. “The beautiful colors within the leaves make fall special,” she added.
For Ms. Thorpe, fall means getting into the spooky spirit. “I like to spend my fall doing spooky things, such as haunted houses and driving around to look at Halloween decorations around the neighborhoods,” she said. Ms. Thorpe is also a fan of scary movies, listing Get Out, Coraline, and The Shining as her favorites. Once the weather cools down, she enjoys pumpkin picking as well.
Liv Meester, a senior, prefers classic autumn traditions. “Apple picking is my favorite fall activity because it’s a nice way to get outside, and apples are yummy!” she explained. Halloween is also her favorite holiday, making this season particularly enjoyable for her.
Whether it’s enjoying sports, appreciating the outdoors, or diving into spooky traditions, Leonia High School is alive with fall spirit. From students to teachers, everyone is finding a way to embrace the season and make the most of the shorter days.
